🖌️Our Experience was Lovely

I visited with my two daughters for a chilled morning activity, and it was exactly what we needed. With a teenager who’s long outgrown soft plays and adventure farms, finding something we all enjoy isn’t always easy but this was right up her street. Creative, hands-on, and refreshingly relaxed.

Everyone approaches painting a pot differently. My eldest daughter looks for inspiration first, so she went straight to Google on her phone, scrolling through images to copy. She changed her mind a few times before finally starting on her plate.

My youngest, on the other hand, had a clear vision from the beginning. She took her time and was completely determined to paint a hundred daisies on her bowl.

I tend to step away from the need for inspiration altogether and prefer a piece that guides me, so I chose a fairy house technically colouring it in rather than designing it from scratch.

Although we each took a different approach, we connected through the experience itself: sharing paints, exchanging ideas, and simply spending quality time together

The process is simple and completely stress-free: choose your pottery piece, pick your colours, and paint at your own pace, with no hidden charges.

🎨No Skills Needed

The shelves are filled with blank ceramics with mugs, plates, cute characters and keepsakes which makes choosing no easy task. It doesn't matter if you’re artistic or haven’t picked up a paintbrush in years; the atmosphere is totally judgement-free.

⏱️Time Flew By

Although sessions usually last around 90 minutes, the studio was quiet when we visited and we were fully absorbed in painting and chatting. The wonderful owner, Helen, kindly let us stay longer, and before we knew it we’d spent 2.5 hours there. Time genuinely flew.

The whole experience felt calm and unhurried. Music played in the background, tiny paintbrushes encouraged us to slow down and take care, and sipping freshly made coffees and matchas made it feel like a real treat. It was one of those rare moments where everyone felt present and relaxed.

☕Food & Drinks

Alongside painting, you can also enjoy a range of refreshments, including hot and cold drinks and plenty of snacks. The girls particularly enjoyed their matcha and vanilla lattes.

If you’re passing by and fancy a hot drink, pop in for a takeaway coffee. Perfect for a walk around town or on the way into Tatton Park.

Once you’ve finished, Knutcraft takes care of glazing and firing your pieces, ready to collect a couple of weeks later.

😀We left feeling proud of what we’d created and already excited to come back and take our finished pieces home.

☀️Make a Day of it

Knutcraft works just as beautifully for solo visits, catch-ups with friends, creative dates, or family outings, and it’s also a great option for birthday parties. Why not switch up a mums night out at the pub for one of their Bring Your Own Booze painting evenings. And as its in Knutsford town centre, it’s easy to tie your visit in with a walk around town, a trip to Tatton Park, or lunch at one of the many lovely cafés nearby.
