Havoc VR in Adlington, Cheshire is a free-roam virtual reality venue offering two immersive, action-packed experiences. With their main VR arena and an interactive sports wall, both are wire free and jam packed with different games and challenges to take on. It only opened in September, and it instantly impressed us with how its a great go-to indoor activity for older kids, teens & adults. It’s an easy, modern way to enjoy gaming and try something completely different.

🎮 Premium Free Roam VR (40 Minutes)
Our experience kicked off in their impressive free-roam VR arena, where up to 12 players can run around completely wire-free. The freedom to move, dodge, and play makes everything feel far more immersive than your usual at-home VR headset.
In our 40-minute session, we jumped through a whole mix of games, each one fun, challenging, and surprisingly energetic. We battled zombies, painted floors, mined for diamonds, swiped gold coins, and even fed dinosaurs pizza. Despite wearing headsets, it felt like a genuinely shared experience, we were shouting, laughing, teaming up, and occasionally taunting each other.
Our game host explained how the VR system worked, going over the game boundaries and helping us choose what to play. There was a great variety of games. She started us off with a couple of easier ones so we could get used to the headset and hand controls, then moved us on to more challenging games that had us both laughing and screaming in frustration every time we died.
It was honestly so nice to do an activity that both of my girls enjoyed. With a teenager and an 11-year-old, they don’t always like the same things, but they loved playing, whether it was competing against each other or teaming up to take on their mother in an all-out battle of painting the floor or playfully “shooting” each other.
Fair warning: by the end I was totally knackered… and the headset definitely left me with some spectacular hat hair.
🥤 A Quick Break…
After a breather and refreshments from their little café, we were ready to tackle the next activity.
⚽ Interactive Sports Gaming Wall
This part was just as energetic, but in a completely different way. The sports wall offers a huge variety of ball-based and skill games, football, tic-tac-toe, Space Invaders, trivia, Viking Rush, air hockey, ball breaker, and honestly so many more.
You can play solo or in groups of two or four, so we all took turns swapping in and out. The trivia round got very competitive, and I became obsessed with the matching pairs game. Watching the girls tackle challenge after challenge together was brilliant.
Alongside the fun games, there’s also a training section with more sports-focused options like tennis and penalty shootouts. They even gave us tennis rackets, which made it feel even more real and added to the fun.
On the interactive wall, hitting the wall with a ball acts as your controller and your way of playing. The arena was filled with soft, sponge balls that we were throwing and kicking everywhere. It turned into a mad free-for-all when we all tried to hit the aliens during an intense round of Space Invaders.
You can book different lengths of time on the gaming wall, but with the amount of variety, you’d never run out of games even if you spent a full two hours in there!
Overall, Havoc VR is energetic, hilarious, and full of variety. A brilliant day out that gets the whole family involved and off their phones. We’ll definitely be back!

Havoc VR is an ideal spot for a birthday party, especially for older kids who want something a bit more exciting than another trampoline park. It would also be a fantastic alternative night out for colleagues or friends who fancy something fun that's not a pub.

For some extra fun before or after your session there are a selection of arcade games, These are at an extra cost, and entertained the girls while we waited for the session before us to finish.
🍕 Food & Drink
The café offers an impressively wide selection of food and drinks, including pizza, wings, paninis, nuggets, chips, milkshakes, slushies, hot drinks, and ice cream. There are plenty of tables and chairs for parents to relax at while the kids play, though it’s often just as fun to watch them explore their imaginative VR worlds in the headsets.

Havoc VR have three party packages available. It would honestly work so well for a kids party. With the fact up to 12 can play at once means a good group of friends can be invited. Plus there is an arena in the cafe dedicated for party guests to eat and put their belongings.
