Tucked away in the Cheshire countryside in Gawsworth between Macclesfield and Congleton, Libby's Patch is a proper family farm run by Daniel and Bethan Thornicroft. Through out the year they have lots of Pick Your Own events In the summer you can pick sun-ripened strawberries and get lost in their sunflower maze. In Autumn hunt for the perfect pumpkin or choose your real Christmas tree in winter.

What I particularly like about Libby’s Patch is that it isn't just a pumpkin patch. The farm has grown into a year-round collection of seasonal experiences, with something different to pick, wander through or take home depending on when you visit.

🍓 Pick Your Own Strawberries
Spring at Libby’s Patch starts with Pick Your Own strawberries, giving you the chance to head into the fields and pick your own strawberries straight from the plants.
There’s something quite lovely about a traditional PYO experience, grabbing your punnet, heading into the field and deciding which strawberries are the best ones to pick.
It's also a lovely way of showing children where their food actually comes from rather than simply buying a punnet from the supermarket.
And let's be honest, strawberries always taste better when you've picked them yourself!

🌻 Sunflower Maze, Wildflowers & Dahlias
Once strawberry season gives way to summer, Libby’s Patch turns into a sea of colour with its sunflower maze and flower fields.
The sunflower maze gives you the chance to wander between the tall sunflowers with a fun trail to find letters and a chance to pick your own sunflowers to take home.

The wild flower area adds even more colour to the experience with a mix of colours and even dahlias, with the farm offering opportunities to pick and take some of the blooms home.

🎃 Pick Your Own Pumpkins
As summer disappears and autumn arrives, the fields at Libby’s Patch become filled with pumpkins, squashes and gourds in all different shapes, colours and sizes.
Rather than simply choosing a pumpkin from a display, you can head out into the patch and find your own perfect pumpkin.
And there really is something quite satisfying about spotting one amongst all the others and deciding that's the one. This year's crop includes 76 different varieties of pumpkins so there should be plenty of choice.

It's also more than just picking a pumpkin. Inside their tipi there is food and refreshments such as stone-baked pizzas, coffee, popcorn, campfire s'mores and hot chocolates, making it possible to spend a little longer at the farm rather than simply arriving, grabbing a pumpkin and heading home.
And yes... wellies and old clothes are definitely the order of the day! 🎃
🎄 Choose Your Own Real Christmas Tree
And just when you think the seasonal visits are over, Libby’s Patch gets ready for Christmas.
During the festive season, you can head to the farm to choose your own real Christmas tree.
There's something much nicer about going to a Christmas tree farm and choosing your tree in person rather than picking one from a row outside a shop.
You can walk around, look at the different trees and find the one that is going to take pride of place in your home for Christmas.
I love that you can visit Libby’s Patch throughout the year and have a completely different experience each time, from picking summer strawberries and flowers to choosing your pumpkin and, finally, your Christmas tree. 🌿🍓🌻🎃🎄
