Kenyon Hall Farm in Warrington almost doesn’t need an introduction. It’s one of Cheshire’s best-loved farm shops, famous for its gorgeous displays, local produce, lovely cafe and of course its pumpkin patch. I finally got the chance to visit their Pumpkin Festival, which is tricky as tickets always fly out.

🎟️Pre Booked Tickets

Kenyon Hall Farm runs a ticketed system for the pumpkin patch. Tickets cost £2.95 per person (2025) and give you access to the pumpkin fields. You can still visit the farm shop, pumpkin marquee, and café without a ticket.

I’d recommend booking as soon as tickets are released, especially if you plan to visit at the weekend or during October half term. Weekday slots are usually easier to get, and it’s convenient to pop in after school as the last entry to the patch is 4 pm.

🎃 The Pumpkin Patch - tickets needed £2.95 pp

When my daughter and I arrived at the pumpkin patch, we were welcomed by fields upon fields of bright orange pumpkins stretching as far as we could see. Families wandered between the rows, children proudly clutching their finds, and parents pausing for photos beside the fun props scattered around. It was such a cheery, autumnal scene.

We set off on our own little mission: to find the perfect carving pumpkin. It had to be that classic orange, not too big, not too small, and able to sit neatly on our table at home. With so many to choose from, the hunt was half the fun. We wandered row by row, holding pumpkins up for each other to inspect, rating them like judges, and laughing at the quirky, lopsided ones. Eventually, after much comparing and debating, we found the one and the joy was as much in the search as in the pumpkin itself.

For anyone who prefers to skip the muddy fields, there’s also a marquee filled with pre-picked pumpkins, already washed and neatly displayed. But for us, the adventure of wandering the patch together made the experience so fun.

🎃 Pumpkin Marquee - Free to visit

The marquee was full of every type of pumpkin you could imagine. Alongside the pumpkins were crochet decorations, doormats, carving tools, and Halloween-themed sweets and chocolates. But the thing that really caught my eye? Pumpkin stickers! I thought this was such a clever idea, perfect if you’re not into carving. There were spooky options like “Boo” and “Happy Halloween,” as well as delicate floral stickers that make your pumpkin more pretty than scary. Such a simple idea, but so effective.

🍦 Time for a Treat

After we had picked our pumpkin we were after a hot drink. The little takeout coffee & ice cream shed was serving up autumn specials such as pumpkin spice latte and "cookies & scream" milkshakes. We went for an adult and kids fully loaded hot chocolate and sat and enjoyed them on the outdoor seating.

🛝 Children's Play Area

There’s also a small play area for children with swings, a slide, and tyres to climb on. It’s not huge, but it’s a lovely spot if you’ve got little ones, and there’s plenty of outdoor seating nearby to enjoy your treat while they play.

🥕 The Farm Shop

No visit to Kenyon Hall is complete without a wander through the farm shop. Honestly, it’s one of the most beautifully laid-out shops I’ve ever seen. It was brimming with pumpkin-themed gifts and treats, but you can also stock up on their usual items from home-grown vegetables, fresh bread, cakes, jars of jam, and even a bottle of their Skittles-flavoured gin (yes, really!)

We left Kenyon Hall with a pumpkin to carve, window display stickers and about 100 photos on my phone. If you’re looking for a family-friendly, feel-good autumn day out, this place is an absolute must. 🎃✨📸
