Nestled in the picturesque village of Utkinton, near Tarporley, Rose Farm Shop prides itself on being a genuine farm shop and a real farm too. It began back in 1985 in a converted piggery and has since grown into a purpose-built enterprise that remains rooted in its original ethos: delivering high-quality, traceable farm produce directly from their fields to your plate.
Not only is it a proper farm shop selling its own produce but it has animals to see and feed including gorgeous Highland Cows and a cafe serving homemade lunches and treats.

While on the search for a cafe while in Tarporley Google lead me to find Rose Farm Shop, such a cute place with FREE animals to visit, FREE parking and a family run cafe.
🐄 Animals to meet
It was a nice surprise to see it is a fully working farm with animals to walk around and see and you can buy food for them in the shop. With amazing highland cows, piglets, chickens, donkeys, llamas and ducks.
🚜Tractor Ride
There's even a tractor ride which takes you all round the farm during the summer. It doesn't run all the time so best to check before going. This is £4 and lasts 20 minutes when running.
What else is there
There are quite a few units hired out for different businesses including a beauty salon, dry cleaners, dog food supplier, campervan hire, Kelsall Cycles, Liftd Gym and the Good Cheese Company
☕ Coffee House
A surprisingly large cafe serving up gorgeous homemade breakfasts, lunches, cakes and Sunday roasts. It even has a bar for late night openings and private events. We stopped in to have a cake and hot chocolates. There was a counter filled with homemade goodies and it was lovely to see the place busy with lots of people enjoying family lunches.
I have since been back with my sister in law for lunch. The menu has a great selection including sandwiches, toasties, jacket potatoes and lots of specials including pasta bakes and vegetable chilli. I went for the homemade quiche which came with proper homemade chips and salad and i honestly couldn't fault it.

🍖 Butchery
Rose Farm raises its own beef and pork, which is aged for at least 21 days to enrich flavour and tenderness. Their lamb comes from a nearby local farm—Ridge Hill Farm in Utkinton, ensuring full traceability from field to fork.
🍎 Fruit, Vegetables & Flowers
Rose Farm Shop showcases seasonal and locally-sourced fruit and vegetables, think Cheshire potatoes and strawberries from nearby Windsor’s Fruit Farm.
Their greenhouse florists offer fresh, handpicked bouquets too, offering custom orders for weddings.
Farm Shop Goodies
Their delicatessen stocks a range of Farmhouse Cheese and Home Cooked Meats. For the cheese range they stock the best of British, with classic Blue Stilton and Nantwich Blue, Somerset Brie and Farmhouse Cheshire to name a few.
The rest of the shop is filled with jams, interesting booze, cakes and pies and all the usual kitchen essentials.
Seasonal Events
Rose Farm Shop hosts a Pumpkin Picking event in autumn, with pumpkins to pick, spooky displays for photo ops, and a pizza van serving up extra hot treats on your visit. Keep an eye on their socials to keep up to date with seasonal events.
